Williamsport Sun-Gazette Feature

We are in the paper!!!! Featured on the FRONT page of the Business section this past weekend, Pat Crossley from the Williamsport Sun-Gazette wrote a lovely article about the business. You can read the full article here!

Some might see this and recognize us or wonder who we are. More importantly, some might read the article and actually be prompted to get in their car and come visit us. And for that, we are so grateful!

Features like this are absolutely vital to small businesses and mean so much more than just having a nice picture in the paper (but that’s totally cool as well!). We want people to get to know us, know our story, what brought us here, why we’re choosing to make the changes we are … and this article did a great job of telling our story.

One of the most important points in the article, that I was so happy to see highlighted, is that we understand the importance in a region like this of supporting local. As a consumer, it’s sometimes easy to forget local business options when there are ‘the big guys’ like Target, Wal-mart and Wegmans to choose from. BUT communities cannot thrive on big names alone. It’s essential to the economy to support those small businesses who are working hard to make a name for themselves and be a part of the fiber of the community.

Realizing that doesn’t mean we are just sitting up here asking people to come out and visit us without taking action ourselves. That is why, not only Frank & I, but our full staff also get out and make sure to patron some of this area’s unique businesses, restaurants, bars and retailers … because it’s super important!

Thank you again for your continued support!

Property Transformation

We have been hard at work to bring updates to the property to allow for more events and to create a more welcoming space for people to sit and enjoy a bottle of wine!

Behind the main winery building there used to be a large barn that blocked the view of the mountain. Where that used to sit there is now space for movies on the lawn and events with food & music!

It's our hope that people will come out and visit the winery, bring a blanket, listen to some music and hang out with us for a day! Make sure to visit our Events Page to see all the fun things we have planned for this summer!

Under New Ownership

Hi everyone, Bastress Mountain Winery team here! We want to keep everyone as updated as possible regarding the changes happening here at the winery and our sister company Mountain Top Distillery.

At the end of March both businesses were purchased by Frank & Sarah Kudlack, entrepreneurs out of the Philadelphia area but with roots from Williamsport. They are taking this time of transition between owners to do some renovations to the property, get spring cleaning out of the way, and increase production.
